Unbroken Chain this weekend at the Fillmore was ma

Unbroken Chain this weekend at the Fillmore was magic. It was an honor to create this poster for these special shows, A Celebration of the Life and Music of Phil Lesh (and Bobby, Jerry, Donna and all our Grateful Dead heroes).
Phil is an inspirational figure in my life, and not only for his music and cultural legacy. He fostered such an enriching scene in the Bay Area and brought so many amazing humans together - Phil made all our lives better and pushed us to be more creative and free.

The artwork for this poster, featuring ascending terrapins and an ouroboros in the cosmos was something Phil asked me to create a few years ago. The symbolism he guided me to embed in this piece resonated with significance and beauty as this weekend’s celebration unfurled.
Thank you to @grahamelesh and all the stellar musicians, friends and fans that came out. We are all so thankful to have this music continue to shine so bright. Grateful Dead Forever.

It was great be with everyone, from drawing for you pre-show to enjoying the music together.
Special thanks to the @owsleystanleyfoundation and family for the stories, hangs and writing this eloquent blurb on the poster;

“Check out the incredible poster for this weekend of shows, created with art direction from Phil himself: Ouroboros swallowing his tail, signifying an unbroken chain of intergenerational musical and artistic excellence, circling above a thousand point fire lotus. Sublime. “

There should be some of these posters available online eventually. There is an artist edition too, but it will be some time before we will release them. The studio is a bit buried in to-do’s.

Thanks for treating me so well.

I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and love I received this weekend.

So many rad people and not enough time or art to really accommodate you all the way I intended to. Thank you all so much for helping to keep things mellow, I drastically underestimated the turn out.

Thanks to everyone that came out - I hope we got a moment together.
Thanks to TRPS & Matt Leunig for creating this great event and pull to come to Atlanta.
Thanks to my boys, Michael and Josh, for holding it down the best they could.
There is so much more appreciation to give, you know who you are, thanks for everything from all of you - everyone stepped up for me.

I realize the purchasing/doodling lines had many issues. We know how to make it better next time. I apologize for putting you all in that situation. If you got a number in the second half, you likely missed out on a decent shopping experience (mini packs) and an embelishment or doodle opportunity. I would like to make it up to you, so feel free to email and share your “lottery” # and eventually I will reach out.

But right now I need to decompress… ya might not be hearing from me for a few weeks.
